IUMS Daejeon 2020

Welcome Message

My Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure that I invite you to the IUMS 2020 International Symposium, which boasts a long history and tradition, from October 12 to 17, 2020 in Daejeon, Korea. In recent years, we have made a dynamic development in the field of science and technology, and I want you, the protagonists of this development, to attend this forum of international scientific community.

IUMS 2020 is organized jointly by the IUMS Organizing Committee and the Federation of Korean Microbiological Societies (FKMS). FKMS is a coalition of five traditional Korean microbiological societies (the Korean Society for Microbiology and Biotechnology, the Korean Society for Microbiology, the Microbiological Society of Korea, the Korean Society of Mycology, and the Korean Society of Virology). Hosting FKMS's 20th International Conference with IUMS2020 is a great opportunity for academic exchange among microbiologists in Korea and around the world. IUMS 2020 is therefore expected to cover a variety of the latest research topics in the field of microbiology better than ever.

Daejeon is geographically located in the center of Korea and is also the center of Korea's history, culture, and science and technology development. We encourage all microbiologists from all over the world to attend IUMS2020 for active academic exchanges and to fully experience Daejeon's diverse historical ruins, culture, traditions, food and entertainment.

On behalf of the IUMS2020 Organizing Committee and FKMS, I am looking forward to seeing you in Daejeon, Korea.

Sang-Ki Rhee, Ph.D. Soon-Kwang Hong FKMS Chairman
