IUMS Daejeon 2020

The goal of this program is to support the young students or postdoctoral fellows who will participate in the International Union of Microbiological Societies (IUMS 2020) Daejeon, Korea. IUMS 2020 congresses will be truly an international arena for the exchange of knowledge and ideas among professionals from academia, clinical practice, industry and research institutions to foster cross-discipline collaboration in the spirit of sharing. The knowledge, information, and experience will be shared by participants to make the events the largest and most comprehensive gathering of the global microbiological community. With great pride and excitement, IUMS 2020 Committee will be looking forward to meeting all students and postdoctoral fellows with memorable and scientifically stimulating congresses.

The scholarship is intended to recognize promising graduate students and Postdocs; and to reduce the financial burden of the awardees, in order to ensure his/her attendance to IUMS 2020 to present oral or poster contributions.
To apply the IUMS 2020 scholarship, an applicant must first submit abstract and give his/her oral or poster contribution. Limited funding is available and will be assigned on a competitive basis.

- The deadline for the submission of the Scholarship Program application is 30 June 2020.
- If you do not proceed registration payment before the abstract submission due, your paper can be excluded from the abstract review.


  • Graduate students or postdoctoral fellows of institutes of higher education such as universities, colleges or of any type of public research institutions such as national laboratories or similar
  • Authors or co-authors for oral or poster presentations


  • CV or Student ID Card
  • A support letter from the thesis or postdoc advisor

- The applications must be submitted at IUMS 2020 official page.


Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of their research accomplishments, the scientific relevance of the submitted abstract and the support letter from the thesis/postdoc advisor. Priority will be given to graduate student/postdoc that:

  • Carry out their research activities in less-developed countries
  • Belong to recently established research groups
